Scope of Activities and Employment Foreigners who intend to work in Korea must obtain an appropriate type of visa and work only in the workplace reported to the immigration office. To change workplace, it is necessary to obtain, in advance,a permission from or report to the immigration office.
The followings are the types of employment visa : short-term employment (C-4), professorship (E-1), foreign language instructor (E-2), research (E-3), technological transfer (E-4), professional employment (E-5), arts and performances (E-6), special occupation (E-7), training and employment (E-8), non-professional employment (E-9), vessel crew (E-10), residential (F-2), overseas Korean nationals (F-4), permanent residence (F-5), tourism employment or working holiday (H-1)
Foreigners’employment and the duration of stay in Korea are regulated by their visa type, and they cannot be engaged in political activities except for when lawfully allowed.
