Foreigners are eligible for Korean national health insurance program, which is available for a monthly fee. Members pay about 20~50% of medical examination and treatment fees, and the rest is paid by the National Health Insurance Corporation.
Eligibility
Spouses and children of nationals of the Republic of Korea who stay in Korea on a visiting or joining family visa (F-1)
Foreigners who stay in Korea for more than one year on the following visas: Cultural Arts (D-1), Student Abroad (D-2), Industrial Training (D-3), General Training (D-4), Journalism (D-5), Religious Affairs (D-6), Supervisory Intra-Company Transfer (D-7), Corporate Investment (D-8), Trade Management (D-9), Professorship (E-1), Foreign Language Instructor (E-2), Research (E-3), Technology Transfer (E-4), Professional Employment (E-5), Special Occupation (E-7), Training Employment (E-8). Their spouses and children (aged up 19) with F-3 are also eligible.
F-2 visa holders staying in Korea
Overseas Koreans (F-4) staying in Korea
Obtaining Eligibility And Application
Applicatios should be submitted to the branch of the National Health Insurance Corporation in your neighborhood.
Documents: Certificate of Foreign Registration or Certificate of Domestic Residence (issued by the Immigration Office), Certificate of Income (issued by the workplace)

Insurance Fee Criteria
Insurance co-paid by the employer and the foreign worker
Insurance paid only by the self-employed or unemployed foreigner (30% discount istudents)
F-1 and F-2 visa holders are subject to the same fees as Korean nationals' based on their income and properties.
